National Public Lands Day Service Project and Camping

September 28, 2019

09:30 AM - 11:45 PM EDT

New York City Platoon

Event overview

The Mission Continues is deploying to celebrate America's public land by volunteering on the Appalachian Trail. We'll be performing some much needed trail maintenance and also camping over night. There's a Metro North train that stops on the Appalachian Trail where we can pick you up and bring you to the trail. If you're also interested in carpooling, we'll have some people driving and they have extra room in their vehicle. If you'd like to carpool, please let me know. We hope you can make it!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
