MY connection to 9/11

  • I was serving in the military on 9/11

Where were you when you first heard about or saw the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

I was deployed in the Indian Ocean, sailing towards South Africa. I was in advanced damage control class in the damage control workshop aboard USS Philippine Sea. We turned around, waited for the special warfare troops to arrive and fired tomahawks into Afghanistan. Been extended our deployment for a month to complete the mission.

What are you excited to contribute to your community, however you define it, for the next 20 years?

I am excited to contribute to the local organic farming movement by raising animals and crops in a clean and environmentally sound way, to be a steward of the land.
