MY connection to 9/11

  • I joined the military after 9/11

Where were you when you first heard about or saw the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

I was born in Cuba. I saw the attacks on TV in a YMCA after school program. I didn’t think much of it when it happened but I knew it was something bad.

How did the events of that day shape your life and inspire your service to this country?

As I got older I learned how devastating those attacks were on our home turf and I knew I wanted to help.

What are you excited to contribute to your community, however you define it, for the next 20 years?

My simplistic way of life. Life is simple, people make it hard.
