MY connection to 9/11

  • I joined the military after 9/11

Where were you when you first heard about or saw the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

I had just sat down in French class as a Junior in High School. Another teacher came in and asked for our teacher to turn on the classroom TV. This is where I would first see the images that would stay with so many of us these past 20 years.

How did the events of that day shape your life and inspire your service to this country?

I had already met with a United States Marine Corps recruiter. I had already planned to join the USMC after graduation. The events of 9/11 would motivate many, and solidify my choice to join and defend our country.

What are you excited to contribute to your community, however you define it, for the next 20 years?

I want to spend my time giving back to the community. I will continue to look for any and all opportunities that would assist in this endeavor.
