MY connection to 9/11

  • I was serving in the military on 9/11

Where were you when you first heard about or saw the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

Doing inventory in a NBC cage at Fort Jackson, SC.

How did the events of that day shape your life and inspire your service to this country?

Changed my life forever; I was reassigned back to a previous unit and was given a deployment order for two years. My unit broke down into platoons and deployed to several areas around the world including Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq, Doha, South Korea to provide biological defense operations to protect our troops from a mass casualty incident.

What are you excited to contribute to your community, however you define it, for the next 20 years?

Just to let the younger generation to know thousands of brave men put there lives on the line thousands of miles from home leaving there loved ones behind to take the fight to the enemies of freedom and democracy.
