Where were you when you first heard about or saw the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

I was a Cryptologist stationed onboard the USS Carl Vinson in the Indian Ocean. We were one of the first Aircraft Carriers on station during the attack and was standing by for orders from President George Bush.

How did the events of that day shape your life and inspire your service to this country?

I will forever remember the sadness of this day and also the honor to proudly serve my country. I directly contributed to the successful mission in defending the freedoms of the United States of America.

What are you excited to contribute to your community, however you define it, for the next 20 years?

I want to continue contributing through volunteering and being a positive role model for the youths. I hope that my dedication of helping others will allow my community to prosper and grow with equality to all.
