Where were you when you first heard about or saw the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

I was in the Commanding Officers office in Puerto Rico trying to get some emergency travel money for one of my members. I remember looking at the TV when the plane was slamming into the Twin Towers. I thought it was a movie until I saw that it was live on the news. I spent the next several weeks activating hundreds of reservist.

How did the events of that day shape your life and inspire your service to this country?

That rage is gone, but now I work to help veterans reconnect with themselves and with society.

What are you excited to contribute to your community, however you define it, for the next 20 years?

I will continue learning all I can about emergency nursing and volunteer when I have the chance.
