Formed in October 2013, The Mission Continues 1st Platoon Orlando now includes more than 250 members — including 10 Mission Continues Alumni.
For the past decade, Orlando has been subject to gang violence and the highest rate of juvenile detention in Florida. A majority of juveniles in Orlando have no clear way out of the violence and no clear path to a better life.
Orlando 1st Platoon is focused on addressing issues impacting local youth in Central Florida. The Platoon has conducted large-scale service missions with Home Builders International, Crossroads Corral, and Project Bridge – Eckard Kids, an organization that provides transitional services to boys and girls ages 11-21 reintegrating back to their home communities from juvenile justice residential commitment programs.
Additionally, the Platoon has formed deep bonds as a new unit. Functioning in many ways like an active duty unit, they have created a genuine sense of support, friendship and camaraderie akin to their days in the military.
Join us as we change the lives of youth in central Florida!
