Led by retired Army Captain Bobby Withers, 1st Platoon of The Mission Continues Orlando is an exceptionally diverse group of volunteers mobilizing to support Central Florida organizations. These nonprofits work tirelessly to positively impact the lives of at-risk youth through mentorship and hands-on training.
We accomplish this mission by working alongside non-profit partners including The Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida (Taft, Mims, and Pine Hills branches); The Zebra Coalition, which provides support services for homeless LGBTQ+ youth; Eckerd Connects’ Project Bridge, which provides transitional services for youth reintegrating from juvenile justice programs; Crossroads Corral, which provides Equine Assisted Therapy for youth who have suffered trauma; and many more.
Recently, Orlando’s 1st Service Platoon has responded to the devastation of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and their resulting humanitarian crisis. Through projects directly benefiting the children of displaced Puerto Rican families, Orlando’s 1st has shown through action that we are dedicated to alleviating suffering in our community.
We work hard, we lead, and we achieve transformational change that inspires future generations to serve.
Join us as we change the lives of youth in central Florida!
