The Manhattan Platoon is support the Bronx Platoon and joining United By Blue and The Bronx River Alliance for a cleanup of Concrete Plant Park! Originally, a source of fishing and fresh water to the Mohegan Native Americans, the historic Bronx River, became an attraction for industry and trade. Unfortunately, with the industry, came heavy amounts of pollution, degrading the waterway. Today, there have been great strides made by the grassroots efforts of many environmental groups like the Bronx River Alliance, toward the revitalization of the Bronx River. Concrete Plant Park is one of many green spaces that now the line river creating a platform for outdoor recreation like row boating, biking, and sports. This clean-up event will prevent trash from being washed down the Bronx River into Long Island Sound. Please help The Bronx River Alliance, United By Blue, and The Mission Continues 1st and 2nd Platoons clean-up and continue to preserve this urban oasis. We hope to see you there!
