Community Fun Day

Join The Travis Manion Foundation’s Killeen Service Platoon for an exciting day of service and community! On April 11, 2026, from 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM, we’re teaming up with the Rick Herrema Foundation for a Community Fun Day at Fort Hood’s III Corps Track & Parade Field. This free event is open to all military-connected and affiliated families and promises fun, smiles, and unforgettable memories!

Volunteer Opportunities

Set-Up Crew

Be one of the first on site and help transform the space into a vibrant, family-friendly event.

Activity Stations Team

Bring the fun to life at:

  • 4 Face Painting Stations
  • Interactive Art Experiences
  • Lawn Games
  • Rock Climbing Wall
  • Inflatable Assistance (adult volunteers needed)

Floaters (All-Star Helpers!)

Move where the action is needed — greet families, check wristbands, give volunteers a break, hand out waters, and support the Service Team Leaders.

Welcome & Registration Team

Be the friendly first face families see and make a lasting impression.

Food Line (Grab & Go)

Keep energy levels high by helping families get their meals quickly and smoothly.

Tear-Down Crew

Help wrap up the day by returning the space to tip-top shape.

This is your chance to make an impact, have fun, and serve your community with the Killeen Service Platoon. Bring your energy, teamwork, and big smiles — together, we’ll make this Community Fun Day an experience families won’t forget!

III Corps Track and Parade Field (located on the northside of the parade field). Alternate parking at Keith Ware Hall across Tank Destroyer Blvd to the south of the field.

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
