9/11 Day of Service at Filbert Street Community Garden

Honor 9/11 Through Service

Friday, September 6th | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Join us at Filbert Street Community Garden, a 1-acre urban farm dedicated to helping our community reconnect with nature through various programs and spaces, as we honor the anniversary of 9/11 through service.

We invite you to help revitalize and maintain this beautiful farm by participating in essential tasks, including:

  • Creating a quarantine area for chickens.
  • Building a dedicated pad and shade area for the chickens.
  • Repairing the roof on the goat habitat.
  • Supporting other farm maintenance needs as they arise.

Your efforts will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where community members can engage with nature and each other.

This is a fantastic opportunity to honor the spirit of service while making a positive impact on our local environment. Together, we can ensure that Filbert Street Community Garden continues to thrive as a space for growth, connection, and healing.

Join us in making a difference and cultivating a vibrant community space!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
