SVA Pittsburgh Regional Summit- July 2025

The Mission Continues is excited to partner with Student Veterans of America during their Pittsburgh Regional Summit for a collaborative service project with Friends of South Side Park!

South Side Park is a vital greenspace in the heart of Pittsburgh, but it faces an ongoing challenge with invasive species like Japanese knotweed. During this project, volunteers will tackle critical park restoration efforts, including:
✅ Removing invasive plants using a variety of tools
✅ Distributing mulch to support the growth of newly planted trees and shrubs
✅ Planting new greenery in shaded areas to enhance the park’s ecosystem


This hands-on project will have a lasting impact on the park’s health and the surrounding community. We’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and serving alongside the SVA and local volunteers!
