Wreaths Across America 2024

December 14, 2024

11:30 AM - 03:00 PM EST

Pittsburgh Platoon

Event overview

Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom. It’s the mission of Wreaths Across America. This year the Pittsburgh Platoon is joining Wreaths Across America in their mission by placing wreaths on the gravesite of fallen service members. We will meet at the flagpole behind where the opening ceremony is held (any concierge should be able to help point you in the direction) at 11:30 sharp. I will be wearing a blue Santa hat and have t-shirts and blue Santa hats for those who are registered. National Wreaths Across America Day at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. there will be an opening ceremony which is scheduled for December 14, 2024 at noon with wreath placement immediately following. So that each volunteer has the opportunity to lay a wreath, we ask that you do not take more than 1-2 wreaths per person. The purpose is to remember and honor our veterans by saying their name, so we'd like you to take time to reflect at each grave when you lay the wreath. Get there early, carpool if possible, and prepare for a memorable day of wreaths and camaraderie. Please plan to join us after! There will be an After Party/Social Event at 31 Sports Bar and Grille beginning at 1PM. Meal and nonalcoholic beverages on us! Let’s celebrate a wonderful year! https://31sportsbargrille.com/

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
