The Mission Continues Detroit Platoon - Building Bridges at Rouge Park

Event Description:

The Mission Continues Detroit Platoon is proud to continue our partnership with Friends of Rouge Park for a follow-up project on November 9th from 10am to 2pm. As part of our ongoing efforts to protect and enhance this vital community space, we will be clearing invasive species and creating a viewing area of the Rouge River between Scout Hollow and Brennan Recreation area.

Our work will focus on cleaning up the trail and clearing to improve visual access of the Rouge River, and ensuring the park remains a safe, enjoyable space for all. This project is a testament to the power of sustained collaboration between community organizations and volunteers. Continued partnerships like ours with Friends of Rouge Park are crucial to the long-term success of preserving and enhancing natural spaces for future generations.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
