Detroit Platoon

Event overview

Join The Mission Continues Detroit Platoon for our United in Service: Honoring 9/11 campaign in collaboration with Friends of Rouge Park as we come together to protect, restore, and celebrate the natural beauty of Rouge Park.

Why Participate?

On September 14th, from 9 AM to 1 PM, we’ll enhance this vital community space through land management, clearing invasive species, and landscaping. This event is a powerful way to honor the legacy of 9/11 while giving back to our community, ensuring that Rouge Park remains an environmentally healthy and culturally vibrant space for everyone.

This day of service is not just about improving the park; it’s also about strengthening our community bonds as we unite in remembrance and action.

Join us in making a difference!

Reminder to everyone, please wear long pants and shirts, hats and boots - the terrain is rugged and may be muddy.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
