Event overview

We have an incredible opportunity to serve and connect with our community through a unique event called "Talk to Me Day," taking place at Loring Park on Saturday, September 23rd, from 12pm - 6pm. Why This Matters: Talk to Me Day is more than just a gathering—it's an event designed to foster meaningful conversations, community building, and mental health awareness. Your role as a volunteer is not just important; it's vital to creating an atmosphere that welcomes and informs every visitor. What We Need: We're seeking 30 dedicated volunteers to act as greeters and information centers at the park's public entrances. You'll be the first point of contact, welcoming guests and handing out "Talk to Me" stickers. Your warm greeting will set the tone for a fantastic community experience! Responsibilities: Welcome guests at one of the 10 public entrances to Loring Park. Provide informational cards about the event and hand out "Talk to Me" stickers. Work in a combined effort with Strangers Meeting Strangers (SMS) and Talk to Me Day staff, focusing on setup, tear down, and clean up of the park. In addition to making someone's day a bit brighter, you'll be part of a team that's making a tangible impact on community well-being.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
