Meal Service

October 21, 2023

09:30 AM - 11:00 AM EDT

Boston Platoon

Event overview

Join the Boston Platoon as we serve brunch at the New England Center and Home (NECHV) for Veterans. Each day, NECHV serves between 380-400 meals to veteran residents and veterans accessing services through their programs. We will assist NECHV kitchen staff by serving brunch during meal service. Volunteers must register online because there is a limited number of slots, and we have to provide names to NECHV in advance. Open only to volunteers ages 18+.

Street parking can be hard to find around the Center, so we recommend taking public transportation if possible. We are a 2-minute walk from the Government Center MBTA Station (Green Line and Blue Line) and an 8-minute walk from the Haymarket MBTA Station (Orange Line and Green Line). There is also bus service from both sites.
If driving, we recommend parking in the Government Center Lot or the Post Office Square Lot. The NECHV is about 5 minutes away from both.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
