Run As One - Denver, CO. Mission On April 16th 2016 Team Red White and Blue, Team Rubicon and The Mission Continues will join forces and Run as One for 3 or more miles in over 80 United States locations to celebrate collaboration, community and camaraderie across the veteran’s support landscape. Meeting location/time: Linger/ Littleman Icecream (2620 16th St, Denver, CO 80211) these locations are supporting this event. Registration will be there at 0930. Multiple Food trucks/ Vendors, band, kegs, etc. will be on site. We will open up the opportunity to other VSOs in the community to come and set up a tent/ table to be available any potential needs or awareness, examples (Mobile Vet Center, WWP, VFW Post 1, Adaptive Adventures, Soldiers to Summit, etc., etc.) 1100 - Remarks about Clay Hunt and why we "Run As One" Begin Run, (optional) 22 burpees as a group; Run will be a true 5k run , 1.6 miles to Sports Authority Field at Mile High on the Colorado Front Range Trail skirting the South Platte River, 50 push ups at the "The Broncos" Statues to commemorate the #SB50 Championship, then return same route HUGE social with multiple vendors and band after until 1500 WHY ARE WE DOING THIS? In honor of Marine veteran Clay Hunt - an original member of Team Rubicon - who lost his battle with PTS and depression, Team Rubicon, Team Red White and Blue and The Mission Continues will partner to participate in the 4th annual Run as One on April 16th 2016. The event will not only serve as the celebration of a continued partnership, but will be a symbol of leadership, action, and collaboration across the veterans’ support landscape. We are asking that all Team Red White and Blue, Team Rubicon and The Mission Continues chapters, platoons, regions and communities plan to participate in this effort. Our Goals: 1. Raise awareness of the challenges, and proposal solutions to the issue of veteran suicide 2. Build strong, united communities around America’s veterans 3.
