9/11 Day of Service at Democracy Prep Public Schools

Event overview

This September 11th the Washington DC Service Platoons will be joined by local police and firefighters for a day of service at Democracy Prep. Tasks will include the following: -Building a brand new community garden -Painting the school's logo on a wall -Painting a large map of the US in an outdoor play area -Revitalizing the school's exterior front -Interacting with students talking about the meaning and history of September 11 Snacks, water and lunch will be provided Thanks to Booz Allen Hamilton we will be able to give away 2 pairs of tickets for the NATs vs. Phillies game on Friday, September 25 at 7:05pm to attendees of this project. We offer two shifts (but you are welcome to stay all day or just for as long as you can): Shift 1: 9am -1pm Shift 2: 12:30pm - 4pm

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
