Event overview

Urban Agriculture Co-op has invited the Newark Platoon to come join them at West Side High School in Newark to help them with the urban garden. The purpose of the Garden will be to teach the students sustainability. As part of this mission, we will be helping with tree/shrub planting, garden box building using drills, compost bin building, shoveling soil to fill garden boxes, etc Lunch and Water will be provided for the volunteers.

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
