Prep Day, MorningStar Baptist Church (Part 2)

August 16, 2019

09:00 AM - 04:00 PM EDT

Pittsburgh Platoon

Event overview

In preparation for the Morning Star Baptist Church service project on Saturday we will meet at the church on Friday the 16th to get the ball rolling. We will be: cutting lumber; priming for painting; marking areas for items to be installed on Green Space; leveling ground for dirt and mulch; digging holes; and much much more. We have plenty of work to go around! We can use as many people for this prep day as we can possibly get and we will be there all day, from 9:00am-4:00pm. If you can't make it for the entire day, that's ok, please stop by as your schedule permits. Lunch will be provided by TMC around 12:00pm. Please let us know if you have any dietary preferences or allergies. We will have bottles of water on-site.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
