Boys & Girls Club - The Lloyd H. Diehl Club

4242 Collingwood Street
Detroit, MI 48204

Event Overview

On the anniversary of the events of 9/11/2001, we remember those who fearlessly and courageously served in the face of adversity by continuing to serve in their honor. Join Detroit Platoons as we continue our mission to support Detroit youth, by creating safe, inviting, and green spaces for them to learn and gather. In honor of 9/11 Day of Service, Detroit Platoons will be hosting volunteers over a 2-day project at the Boys & Girls Club. Indoor and outdoor projects will include the creation of a butterfly garden, mural painting, securing safe routes in the neighborhood, creating shade structures, and more. Register for one or both projects now, and stay tuned for additional updates!

What To Wear

Clothes that are ready to work, closed-toe shoes, and your TMC gear! A blue Mission Continues t-shirt will be provided to first-time volunteers.

What to Bring

Bring a reusable water bottle and a friend! We will provide snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, and the tools to get the job done.

Parking is available in the parking lot behind the clubhouse off Petoskey or on the street. Please be sure to secure your vehicle and refrain from leaving valuables. Pro Tip: a small day-bag or running belt are great, hands-free ways to keep your valuables close and secure during the project.
