JROTC Leadership Project

March 09, 2019

09:00 AM - 02:00 PM AST

Puerto Rico Platoon

Event overview

Come join The Mission Continues Puerto Rico Service Platoon for our Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) Leadership Project at Antilles Military Academy on Saturday, March 9th. Antilles Military Academy is home to the first-ever JROTC program in Puerto Rico....and they need our help. Hurricane Maria damaged their competition space, which means their students have not been able to practice or invite other schools to compete. The mission of JROTC is to instill in students the values of citizenship, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. Their goal is to motivate young people to be better citizens. What better way to help them achieve this goal than by showing them the way? Our volunteers will be clearing and cutting overgrowth and reopening their space for an upcoming competition later this month. We will be joined by JROTC youth, who will serve alongside our veteran and civilian volunteers! Lunch and water will be provided, all we ask is that you grab a fellow veteran or civilian who wants to help, and meet us there. GPS location: https://goo.gl/maps/HfzXAZF5aeN2

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
