Baltimore Platoon

Event overview

Join us for Baltimore 2nd Platoons very first project with a new partner in Curtis Bay, South Baltimore - Filbert Street Garden! This beautiful Garden was founded in 2010 as part of the City of Baltimore's Adopt-a-Lot Program. In addition to providing the perfect environment for fruits and vegetables, this one acre plot is now home to honey bees, bats, chickens, waterfowl, and 2 dwarf goats. The Mission Continues is proud to be expanding our reach on the South Baltimore peninsula, and on Saturday, 2/23, our platoon will be cutting wood and rebuilding some outdated community garden beds and mulching throughout the area in preparation for the Spring growing season. Whether you like to clear garden debris or hone your power tool skills, we have a job for you!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
