Learning Space and Chalkboard Build at the Tot Lot!

October 21, 2017

11:00 AM - 02:00 PM EDT

New York City Platoon

Event overview

The Harlem Grown Tot Lot is an interactive sensory garden where neighborhood kids learn about sustainable living and are introduced to urban farming. It is a first introduction to the program at Harlem Grown. Unfortunately there is some inappropriate "dark" graffiti on one of the building walls that can't be painted over. So we are going to build a learning space and chalkboard for the kids in order to cover it up! This is another great opportunity to help Harlem Grown spread its sustainable living programs to children and make Harlem beautiful!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
