Atlanta 1st Service Platoon is tackling the many challenges of individuals and families that are living in poverty or are at-risk of slipping into homelessness. Through our veterans, volunteers and community partnerships we strive to solve those challenges, and ease the burden that those problems cause. Our goal is to make a positive impact on communities by creating a united front of veterans and civilian partners to provide support, service and encouragement wherever is needed.

As a service platoon our operational partner is Quest Community Development which provides supportive housing to chronically homesless individuals on the west side of Atlanta. Our platoon members assisted Feeding the Homeless Project Inc. in feeding over 400 homeless residents in the Auburn Ave area and helped set up for Hosea Feed the Hungry during the annual Spring Jubilee, which services thousands of people annually in the Atlanta metro area.

We currently work closely with other Veteran Support Organizations such as Team RWB and Team Rubicon, as displayed at the Piedmont Park beautification project and supported the Pat Tillman Run. Other partners include Habitat for Humanity, Points of Light, Genesis Prevention & VetCorp and Catholic Charities Atlanta, but we are always looking for more partners and ways to get engaged in the Atlanta area.
