Event overview

Working in the New Town neighborhood, you'll volunteer alongside our homebuyers and staff. Groups of volunteers are led by an experienced Team Leader. Volunteers work on projects such as painting, landscaping, house wrap, vinyl siding, window install, caulking, laying sod, and cleaning for pre-carpet and final punch. A typical day begins with check-in at 7:45am and concludes at 3:00pm. Volunteers must be 16 or older to be a HabiJax Volunteer.

What To Wear

Closed-toe tennis shoes or boots are required. Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or paint on are strongly encouraged. Light colored, cotton clothing and a hat are recommended for the summer. Jewelry is not allowed, because it can get damaged or lost very easily.

HabiJax provides all of the materials needed for your volunteer day. We do provide water at all sites

Please note you will make a left off Kings Rd onto Grunthal St.The Center for the Prevention of Health Disparities, Edward Waters College. Parking is available behind the building, in the lot across the street, and on the street.

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
