Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands is Seattle's largest urban farm. Community volunteer members of all ages are learning to grow food organically and restore the natural wetland habitat that runs down the middle of the farm all the while supplying fresh food for the community. Rainer Beach Urban Farm is collaborating with King Conservation District and the Mission Continues to restore the productivity of urban farm land, engage the Rainer Beach Urban Farm community and increase the farmable area of the available space for the farm. By removing previous petroleum-based fabrics and amending the soil with compost and mulch, volunteers will begin the soil-healing process and increase soil fertility for future food production.

What To Wear
Wear clothing and shoes/boots you don’t mind getting dirty. Tools and gloves are provided, and we also have some extra rain gear and rubber boots
What to Bring
Please ensure you come dressed for the weather and bring a water bottle to help reduce waste.

This is an outdoor project so please bring rain gear in case it rains.

Parking Information
There will be construction on site as we build a new classroom and teaching kitchen. The regular parking lot may be inaccessible, so I’d recommend parking in the lot at the adjacent Beer Sheva Park and walking to the gate at the southwest corner of the farm.
