Event overview

Join Us for Earth Day - Rooted in Service at VFW Post 8936

Come together with the San Antonio Platoon on April 12, 2025, at VFW 8936 to make a meaningful impact in our community.

This is your chance to experience the camaraderie and teamwork from working alongside veterans and community members. Whether you’re a veteran or not, you’ll gain a unique perspective on service as we all unite to give back to under-resourced communities.

Through your efforts, you'll help foster a sense of purpose, connection, and growth among those who have served our country. Report for duty in your community and be part of something bigger. Serve at home and make a difference where it matters most as we revitalize this VFW Post in the heat of the West Side.
During this project, we will revitalize Post 8936 by giving it a nice facelift. Most of this project will consist of painting.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
