Stone of Hope MLK Service Project

January 18, 2025

08:00 AM - 01:00 PM EST

Broward County Platoon

Event overview

Join us for #LegacyofService: Honoring MLK Day with Action! This January, The Mission Continues is calling you to serve in celebration of The Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service through our #LegacyofService campaign!

MLK Day is more than a day off—it’s a day to honor those who have fought and continue to fight for equality and justice, both in and out of uniform. We recognize the impact of activism and the power of citizens working together for a brighter future. While we've made great strides, there's still work to be done, and veterans are uniquely suited to lead this positive change.

For our #LegacyofService project, we will help create welcoming seating areas at Stone of Hope in Broward County by building and painting new benches!

What We'll Be Doing:
Build and paint benches to provide comfortable spaces for veterans and community members to gather and reflect.
Enhance the beauty of this important site while honoring those who have served.

Get Involved!
Your participation makes a difference! Whether you're an experienced builder or just want to help out, we welcome volunteers of all skill levels to this meaningful project.

Let's create a lasting tribute to our veterans and make Stone of Hope a more inviting place for everyone!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
