09:00 AM - 02:00 PM CDT

Houston Platoon

Event overview

Join the Houston Platoon on September 21st for a day of service and unity at Mykawa Farms as we honor the lives lost and the sacrifices made on that day. This project is about more than giving back, it’s a chance to come together as a community.

What We’ll Do: Clear five feet of brush Move a large amount of mulch Replace shade sails Repair roof panels on a gazebo damaged by the hurricane Construct a frame for a handwashing station Wood chipping Install a flagpole and more!

This is just phase one of our project leading up to Veterans Day on November 16th.

Why Participate? This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, reflect on the significance of 9/11, and make a lasting impact in our community. Whether you’re a veteran, a family member, or a dedicated community member, your involvement matters.

Together, we can honor the past and build a stronger, more connected Houston.

Don’t miss this chance to be part of something truly special!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
