Support Switchfoot Bro-Am Beach Fest + Surfrider's International Surfing Day

June 15, 2024

09:00 AM - 07:00 PM PDT

San Diego Platoon

Event overview

For our support, it's noted that it is an all-day event! You are not required to stay the whole day and here is what the Surfrider Foundation is hopeful for in support. "PLEASE NOTE: There are 3 shifts, and you can sign up for one, two or all three! If you need to change your registration, let us know! Below is a more detailed description of each shift. **9am-12:30pm: For the first hour, help set up waste stations throughout the Bro-Am footprint. Each waste station comprises waste bins (cardboard boxes, trash cans) for either landfill, recycling, or organics. Assistance is needed to place signage on these waste bins so it’s clear what each waste bin is for. For the remainder of the shift, details are below. **10 am-2:30 pm: Volunteers will be organized into pairs and assigned an area to monitor, keep clean, and educate public eventgoers on how to properly dispose of their waste and use the waste bins to divert waste from the landfill. **5-7 pm: Post-event beach clean-up. An all-day event is not required, times are flexible. Thank you for being with us and supporting the community!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
