Day of Service at Harsimus Cemetery

National Events Platoon

Event overview

We’re excited to join forces with the City of Jersey City's Division of Veterans Affairs and Department of Health and Human Services to beautify and expand access to the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery.

Sadly neglected and abandoned in early 2008, the Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery is now being saved and preserved by the dedicated efforts of a newly formed volunteer Board of Trustees, a hard-working group of volunteers, and a supportive Community who are committed to the restoration of the historic cemetery grounds, caretaker house, and historic monuments.

Come ready to get your hands dirty and serve alongside like-minded folks in the Jersey City community for this amazing Day of Service!

Lunch will be provided after the workday.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
