Lassen Elementary School Garden Bed TLC

February 20, 2024

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM MST

Phoenix Platoon

Event overview

Come out and help us provide some Tender Loving Care to the school's garden bed area. Lassen Elementary is a new community partner where we have done one project in the garden bed area. We have another project scheduled there in March. These "bridge" projects help us with relationship-building and maintaining the garden bed area so it is an exciting and inviting area for the schoolchildren. Our primary task on 2/20 will be to weed the garden beds and the garden bed area. Since school will be in session we will all need to sign in via the school's new electronic sign in system. Water, gloves and sunscreen will be provided. Please bring any other sun protection items you'll need. We will meet in front of the visitor entrance to the school. Park in the visitor lot.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
