The Mission Continues has been invited to come out and garden as a group with South Street Farm for February. This is a great opportunity for our platoon to come out to our local Orlando community and allows for Infinite Zion farm to continue to service an underserved community with fresh food and structured opportunities.
Volunteers are asked to bring gloves for gardening, we will have some work gloves available on behalf of the platoon. Upon registration, you will be sent a waiver required by the farm, please kindly bring it with you on the 18th or email a copy back so we have them on file. We will have printed copies as well.
Due to space and size of the farm we have 15 volunteer spots available. All ages are welcome.
About South Street Farm by Infinite Zion Farms
Food is our life line, Orlando has only one farm dedicated to educating, serving, and providing for the urban community.
During its two-year existence in Orlando, the farm has transformed an abandoned land to a thriving urban farm. The space took seven months to clear, was full of gravel, lacked power, and was not considered a space to grow anything. With perseverance, determination, and a mindset to make the vision of urban farming manifest, the founders, Ray and Prince, have independently added power to a land that was deemed not able to have power, cultivated a growing farm that provides sustainable food options to community and has resulted in success stories of formerly homeless persons who started work on the farm and are now thriving and maintaining a home.
