Service Project

Beautification at Center in the Park

July 22, 2023

08:00 AM - 02:00 PM EDT

Philadelphia Platoon

Event overview

"Founded in 1968, Center in the Park (CIP) is a non-profit community center in Northwest Philadelphia primarily focused on the needs of older people. The Center fosters respect, independence, and personal growth for each individual. As a community resource, it provides access to supportive services and activities."

CIP is looking for help with beautifying the park for the senior citizens and the rest of the Germantown residents. The facility has been available to take care of the community since 1968, so we would like to take care of them and their clients.

CIP requested help with some weeding, mulching, and removal of vines and debris in the park. We are excited to work outside and support such a wonderful non-profit.

We will have t-shirts and lunch, just bring your hands and willingness to get dirty. For those that need non-labor intensive work, we will be cleaning all the trash and debris from around the park, too.

We hope to see everyone there!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
