MLK Day of Hope

January 19, 2019

10:00 AM - 03:00 PM EST

Broward County Platoon

Event overview

The Broward Service Platoon will be partnering with the Jack and Jill Children's Center for an impactful day of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The center needs our help to beautify and bring their current space to life for the youth they serve. We will be painting a mural, building picnic tables, a reading loft and planter boxes. The famous DJ Rambo will be there providing the soundtrack for the day, and water and lunch will be provided. This is a family friendly event, so bring the kids!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
