Bike or Hike: Missions Bike Trails

March 31, 2018

09:00 AM - 11:30 AM CDT

San Antonio Platoon

Event overview

Mission Portals connect San Antonio's four historic missions – Mission Concepción, Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan and Mission Espada – to the San Antonio River. These connections feature historic and artistic interpretations of the story of the missions and highlight their social and cultural importance to the area. This reinforces the importance of the river to the missions and encourages visitors to circulate between the Mission Riverwalk and the river. Wending alongside the San Antonio River, through old neighborhoods and farmlands, the Mission Hike and Bike Trail provides respite from the daily pressure and grind of city life! We will hike/bike from Mission Concepción to Mission Espada, eight (8) miles of dedicated paved pathways are reserved for the hiker and biker. An easy walk or ride, it is suitable for even young members of the family! Grab your best hiking or biking shoes and join us on a projected beautiful morning of March 31st! Bring your kids, friends, and families as there will be a community picnic to follow! Feel free to bring your own bike and please let us know if you will need one! The Bike Rental Station is located at Mission Concepción and the Pavillion is Located at 500 Theo Pkwy, San Antonio, TX 78210 right across the street from the Bike Rental Station

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
