Archaeological Dig

After extensive planning with Team Rubicon, I am proud to offer a one of kind support event. Come help archaeologist Dr. Jonathan Burns, from Juniata College, identify pieces of the past in a metal detection and limited excavation survey at the Colonial-era Fort Ligonier in Ligonier, PA. Dr. Burns will teach basic metal detection and give an informal presentation of the site’s history and his work to involve the veteran community in a military heritage site. Tours of the museum and the reconstructed fort will also be given. The museum is home of the Lafayette/Washington Pistols and other relics of the French and Indian War. Breakfast, lunch, and beverages will be provided. No prior experience required. Carpooling is encouraged. *****DISCLAIMER- Do to the nature of the dig site, ONLY 10 spots are available and must be over the age of 16, on a first come basis*****
