#HerMission Women Led Service Project

March 09, 2019

10:00 AM - 04:00 PM EST

Pittsburgh Platoon

Event overview

Hey Ladies! Yes, all of you strong, beautiful, intelligent and amazing women out there! This one is for you! Join the women of The Mission Continues in Pittsburgh as we work alongside women and children from the Homewood community in creating some fabulous outdoor community spaces with our Homewood Platoon partners, Operation Better Block. Although this isn't a South Hills specific project, South Hills Platoon will be supporting this event in honor of Women's History Month. We will be landscaping, planting, building planter benches and much more! This project will be lead, from the beginning, by The Mission Continues women platoon members, the female staff at Operation Better Block and women from the Homewood community. Lunch will be provided to all registered participants! Join us to celebrate #HerMission and take this opportunity to serve alongside other daughters, sisters, mothers and friends. This event is open to all ages and abilities. We welcome men and women who are interested in celebrating Women's History Month and the empowerment of our community's women!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
