The Baldwin Library provides a safe, comfortable, and inviting gathering place that connects the community, including large numbers of immigrant and refugee residents that reside in the Baldwin area. This February, in order to expand their services and be more accessible to the refugee community, they will be moving to a new location adjacent from Leland Park, a largely populated housing complex that is home to a diverse community of refugees. They have asked South Hills Platoon to help them with this important move. We will join with other residents and volunteers to load packed boxes into box trucks and relocate them to the new facility. We will also be raising Old Glory at the new site! Join us in supporting this important resource to the community. This event will be the first official partnership with South Hills Platoon and the Baldwin Library, but we plan on continued, strategic partnership throughout 2019 and beyond; helping to beautify the new library building! The Baldwin Library will be graciously providing coffee and lunch for volunteers!
