The Fellowship Experience

At The Mission Continues, we've long believed that the five million men and women who have worn our country's uniform since 9/11 are assets. When veterans find a way to channel their ethic of service, skill sets, and leadership abilities at home, our communities flourish.

We also know that many veterans struggle to find purpose at home without the structure, mission and camaraderie of a military unit. By empowering them to serve as civic leaders, their service gives them purpose and aids them in successfully transitioning home.

To date, we have engaged nearly 200 post-9/11 veterans in six month fellowships in local nonprofit organizations, mentoring at-risk youth, training guide dogs for disabled Americans, coordinating housing builds or doing disaster preparedness work. We have seen these communities improve as a result of their efforts and seen those veterans grow and successfully transition to meaningful careers, further education or an ongoing role of service.

At The Mission Continues, we challenge veterans to execute a new mission of service at home. In 2012, a new class of Fellows will answer the call to service and commit to improve communities across the country.

Are you ready to accept our challenge to serve again?
