MY connection to 9/11
  • I was a first responder (fire, police, EMT) on 9/11

Where were you when you first heard about or saw the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

I responded to New York City for the WTC/911 and worked at Ground Zero through the American Red Cross Disaster Relief and FEMA. I worked at Gate #1 where they brought out the dead while we also walked the line and gave support for the response team with drinks and snacks.

How did the events of that day shape your life and inspire your service to this country?

World Trade Center 9/11 Ground Zero was a life changing experience but a honor to be able to respond to this disaster. As I look back at WTC/911, we the workers are having health problem and we are losing fellow co-workers to cancer.

What are you excited to contribute to your community, however you define it, for the next 20 years?

Hopefully Americans won’t forget the workers of the WTC/911. A lot of people are focusing on a number of firefighters that was lost. Without the emergency responders that worked at Ground Zero, they wouldn’t have closure. The WTC/911 still going on as I write this their was a lot of different.
