Sound the Alarm - Save a Life

October 07, 2017

07:30 AM - 01:00 PM HST

Oahu Platoon

Event overview

Sound the Alarm is a National campaign to save lives by installing 100,000 alarms nationwide, including 1,000 alarms in Hawaii. Since 2014, the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign has saved at least 215 lives, and the 1 millionth alarm will be installed during the Sound the Alarm- Save a life event. Every day, 7 Americans perish in home fires, and Red Cross offers help and hope in the aftermath. Smoke alarms cut the rate of death in half, so we will install smoke alarms in the homes of vulnerable populations like the elderly and disabled, and educate them on how to prevent and escape from home fires. We will assist the Red Cross of Hawaii in Teams of four installing fire alarms. Each team will have a Documenter; safety Educator; Installer; Assistant
