All the Houston Astros Foundation has requested volunteers for this event, unfortunately I am not available so if anyone is available to take the lead please let me know so I can put you down as the Point of Contact. Houston Food Bank feeds 800,000 hungry people each year by distributing food through nearly 600 hunger relief agencies in 18 southeast Texas counties. Volunteers will assist at the main warehouse. Duties depend on the makeup of volunteers for the shift. Most of the projects at the main warehouse involve inspection, sorting and repackaging of donated food items for community distribution. Volunteers at the main warehouse help to distribute millions of meals each year. Children as young as six are welcome. At least 1 adult chaperon is needed for every 10 minors.
