Community Garden Build Come join the Mission Continues Lowell Platoon for The Mill City Grows community build at their urban farm (located behind the white technology building Autoliv/Metrigraphics/Rapid Micro Biosystems) Saturday July 29th from 9:00am - 1:00pm. We are looking for around 20 volunteers to help lay out landscape fabric and spread wood chips, as well as constructing twenty-one 4'x10' garden beds. Snacks will be provided. Mill City Grows manages community gardens for residents in Lowell to grow healthy nutritious food. Their urban gardens provides thousands of pound of food that are distribute through out the neighborhoods and their mobile markets increase accessibility. Mill City Grows also provides education and training to local community members and schools. Stick around and hang out! Grab and a beer eat some food and listen to music at the Folk Festival. We will be having a social after the garden build at the Lowell Folk Festival at Jfk plaza (by City Hall) from 1:30pm 3:30pm. Various food vendors are on site. Lunch will be provided by TMC.
