Event overview

Chicago Veterans 4th annual Ruck March! Last year over 1,200 veterans, family members & supporters, laced up their boots and strapped on their rucks to march 22 Miles to honor and remember those we lost at home and on the battle field. A new study released this year shows the number of veteran suicides have dropped from 22 to 20 veterans a day. What we and other organizations are doing collectively is making a difference! And we will continue our efforts to do so. So on Friday, May 26, 2017, we will once again be hosting our annual ruck march. This year we will be rucking 20 miles! Together let's raise awareness of veteran suicide and help end this epidemic. Our goal is to honor our fallen brothers and sisters and raise as much awareness as possible of PTSD and Veteran suicide through a patriotic 20 mile ruckmMarch, carrying 20+ pound rucks. The march kicks off at 8am sharp! CAN'T RUCK WITH US? Feel free to go as far as you can. If you can't make it or are physically unable to, support the team or spread the word in any way you can on our team page. Remember, this is about awareness for our fallen vets! You can find our team page here: TMC Team Page WHAT TIME IS CHECK IN AND WHAT CAN I EXPECT? Check in will begin as early as 6:30am, with the event starting at 8am. You do not need to print your registration ticket (let's save paper!), Simply visit the check-in table and show your eTicket on your mobile phone or give your name. APPROXIMATELY WHAT TIME WILL THE RUCK MARCH END? CAN FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEET US? We all walk at different paces so it's important that you let your friends and family know what time you'll be arriving. The majority of the participants will arrive between 3PM- 4PM. FOOD? Lunch will be provided for all participants and volunteers at Centennial Park in Evanston. DO I REALLY NEED TO CARRY 20 POUNDS? The weight in the rucksack signifies the emotional and physical weight carried by our fallen. It is up to you how much you would like to carry. You can carry as much or as little as you can. Be sure to register for the event on this page along with on the event page at: Chicago Veterans Ruck March Event Link We look forward to seeing everyone at the starting point on Friday, May 26, 2017!
