As you know, Mayor Walsh announced that the City of Boston will once again honor Boston's resilience, generosity and strength on April 15, now permanently known as "One Boston Day". The day serves as an opportunity to recognize the good in Boston's community and reflect on the spirit and resilience of the people of Boston that was exemplified in response to the loss and tragedies of April 15, 2013. This month, the Office of Veterans Services has organized a service project known as Operation Thank a Vet to take place on One Boston Day. Please join Mayor Walsh and the Office of Veterans Services for Operation Thank a Vet. This is an opportunity to connect with the veterans of Boston. We will be knocking on their door and hand delivering thank you packages and letting them know that this city will always remember their service. We will be visiting the veterans in Dorchester starting at 11:30 am at the Cleveland Community Center and ending at 3 pm for a reception with Mayor Walsh. This is the neighborhood that our platoon is working to support longterm. This event gives a great opportunity to meet the residents, and build the rapport necessary for a lasting impact.
