Get your farm on with DC 5th Platoon as we harvest crops with Arcadia! We’ll arrive at 4 pm and do some farm work. Then, we’ll sit around, chat and share whatever light snacks people have brought with them, so please bring something to share if you can. Think zucchini muffins, fruit, hummus, pita... you get the idea! Pam, the executive director of Arcadia, will whip up some ‘Farm Tonic’ (gin and tonic) to top off the evening. Arcadia Farm is located just a few short miles from downtown Washington, DC, on the historic grounds of Woodlawn Estate. Arcadia’s demonstration farm currently encompasses four acres, providing a sustainable model of agriculture to new farmers, students, and the public through hands-on community engagement.
