Fixing the Goldfish Pond at Greene Acres

July 22, 2017

10:00 AM - 02:00 PM EDT

New York City Platoon

Event overview

On July 22nd The Mission Continues Brooklyn Platoon will be volunteering with Greene Acres Community Garden in Brooklyn. Greene Acres is a community garden that encompasses five lots containing numerous ornamental plantings and a wide variety of vegetables – including tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, peppers and squash. Enjoyed and maintained by a large, active group of local residents, Greene Acres features numerous innovations that make the garden a model of sustainability. We will be putting a new liner in a goldfish pond. The garden and community need our skills to fix the pond. The pond is ten years old and the old liner is leaking water into the ground underneath. We'll also have other garden tasks that we can help with. Let's help! We hope to see you there!!
